Trauma is a unique experience. It's meant for us to discover and heal as we get older, with or without help, but society in certain cultures, especially minorities, have painted such an ugly face on getting help with a therapist/counselor/psychologist. When in reality, there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting extra help for your mental health. Sometimes, it is absolutely necessary. And even on a spiritual journey, your guides, angels, or deities are all on board with helping YOU however you see fit.
My journey started with seeking out a therapist. I was having consistent anxiety attacks. Constant trouble speaking up. Consistently depending on w**d to cycle through life on a temporary high. I sought help out and, honestly, my journey started there.
Seeking help kick-started my journey so much that I started seeking help to contact my deceased uncle. I was depressed and the only one who had ever understood me was him.
And that is how I stumbled onto spiritual TikTok. Stumbling unto so many people struggling to do the same thing as I was, and just as or even more desperate than I.
It's been a rough road. Spirituality is no joke. You really have to adopt a philosophy of "Faith over Fear", of " trusting the universe", of "looking out for signs" and it's hard for people to understand as a concept. People call it a cult. Some call it "the work of the devil". Some think it the same as religion.
The best thing that I've witnessed in this community is how freeing it is to be yourself. To think what you want to. Jesus was crucified in the same manner, was he not? With people thinking all sorts of things that eventually he died for. But, even as at the last moment. Even at his last breath, He chose love. Unconditional love and forgiveness.
And that's the key to trauma. Jesus wasn't traumatized after that. He chose the best two options and was rewarded for that. Loving yourself despite the flaws you see. Accepting yourself. Forgiving for yourself.
The only reason healing seems hard is because it takes us back to the root of the emotions that were felt in that situation. That fight or flight sensation. But, what you don't know, is that all you have to do is surround yourself with love and forgiveness. Give yourself a big ole hug.
One day at a time. You gotta feel it to heal it. The only way out is through.
Those are some of the mantras I repeat to myself when going through rough times. I hope it'll be able to help some of you too.
